Yeah using the MPC to track vocals is kind of a "I don't have any other gear and I'm away from a place where I could just track it all normally" trick.
Either MIDI clock-sync it to a DAW or PDS, or just straight up track the MPC beat and track your vocal on top of it, that saves you the trouble of rigging MIDI cables, etc.
If all you're doing is putting a beat together on the MPC and recording vocals on top of it, I wouldn't worry about syncing at all. In fact you could just resample the beat on the MPC and load the track up already recorded in a DAW.
If you're trying to sequence additional MIDI instruments along side the MPC, syncing it to a DAW or PDS is the optimal solution. That way you can sequence VSTs or other outboard gear using either the MPC or the DAW, whichever works best or is your preference.
