I wonder if it is possible to require some new smale features applied on the final release of OS v.2

Here is a list of mine:
1, data wheel movements in the step edit mode can be quantized to T.C. and the cursor won't jump down to the event list after step-rec a note, instead of that it stays at time area on the top.

2, pop-up glaphic time line with cursor to inform the user when moving in step edit mode.

3, apply the same sample on all pads in a pgm with auto chromatic.

4, customize-able glaphic when startup.(this doent really matters lol)

1 sample streaming from hd

2. more fx send channels

3. grid edit like step sequencer

4. note repeat "hold" function

5. note repeat edit with q-link slider after the rec. up to 1/128 and more

:D

one thing would be great, two things i find missing.. pingpong looping, and that you could play 16 levels via midi. basses would be nicer to play.

And a way of making it possible to play "note of" samples in 16 levels tuning mode, without the suonds CUTTING each other OFF.

am i the only one with this problem?

you mean when you're holding a note down when it's note on, right? trying to make a bassline or something similar?

honestly, i gave up 16 levels for that kind of stuff. it makes it so you can't adjust other settings such as attack, decay and filter in the step edit field...it's taken up by tune.

i'd advise just making a program out of it. this way they don't cut each other off unless you want em to.

16 levels for tune is good for some things but i don't think it's good for pads w/ "note on" selected.

true, true. Its strange though that the 16 levels are so problematic.. i mean its the only "quick" way to play tuned stuff now that we dont have Auto Cromatic...

1. yeah either fix 16 levels or add auto chromatic

2. still hoping for dynamic pitch/filter sweeps with q-links

From reading Sparq's notes on the prototype of the new OS, I really like how volume and pan can be automated: this is ideal for playing back long, looped samples. I'll be able to throw drum loops and basslines all over the place. Fade them in and out. Really, really nice.

However, I hope that Akai/Numark will allow us to record/playback filter and pitch sweeps on pads too -- not like just now, where the filter settings are frozen as soon as a pad starts playing. With a filter on each pad, that would be just amazing: the MPC1000 could become a powerful DJ/track-building tool.

My only wish for the MPC OS any version.
A 4 Bar long grid step sequencer per Track.
