Hi there, I have some turntables, a keyboard and an mpc1000. Christmas is coming up and I was wondering if anone could suggest any additions to my studio set up? Nothing too expensive. Just something around the £100 mark. Thanks for your time, Tee.

Someone wants to buy me something for christmas, but wants it to be a nice gift and not just vouchers or a bunch of cd's or books.

yo- do you have a mixer for your turns??? how a bout a mixing console- so you can eq your drums, and hook up all your other gear so it can come out of one source..besides that youre good...theres software stuff you can get if you have a computer too..but those is extra...do what you can with what youve got..then keep upgrading little by little so you know how to function all your gear instead of having a bunch of shit you dont know how to use all together

Thanks for the tips.

Yeh I have headphones and a mixer. I wouldn't dream of letting someone buy me records. I'd have to be in control of that.

I dont think I need a mixing console...everything eventually comes out of just the mpc anyway.

ive seen them sexy brochures of sound equipment and just thought there might be a little gadget that wont break the bank but would add something novelle to my set up.

thanks.

Effects are always fun- do you have any effects that are better than the 1k's built in ones? And effects come in all kinds of price ranges.

Or some kind of external filter.

Howbout a minidisc player with a mic jack... you can go around and sample stuff from real life.

I know the situation... why can't they just write u a check already, hey. :)

The expansion kit isn't available in the UK. Retailers still refuse to admit it's more than just a rumour.

I dont know how I'd go about importing one from the states.

How about a hard-synth? I recommend the Korg MS2000, i just bought the rackedition, used for about 250 $ that's pretty cheap i think. And it sounds very fat too!

from what i was told yesterday, it will be in about 2 weeks. (this is not my time frame. it's what akai told me, yesterday) i'm looking into finding out which retailers will get it.

I had this download on my old comp that kinda reminds me that m-audio thing. I wish i could find it cus it would be fun to stick in a track, its called doc talk and you type in a scentance and it reads it out loud in what ever kinda voice you want. I know its nothing to do with the topic, last post just reminded me to dl it again.
