Can i sample vinyl with this stuff?

A MPC1000 (ofcourse), this turntable: http://www.new-line.nl/webshop/view.asp?i=11708 and a Mackie DJ Mixer.. : http://www.mackie.com/products/d2/index.html.

It's becourse, i read somewhere in here, that you need premap from some mixer, to sample from vinyl to the 1000..

yes, with this setup, you can sample into the 1k. that mixer is a hell of a mixer.

plus its good to take with you while digging

Yeah, that mixer looks sweet - nice and simple, a little like the TTM 56, but with firewire - crazy.

You can buy a small phono preamp

i use this one, works great, good signal, cheap and doesn't take up much space

I wonder why mackie put a FW port on the mixer, but no SP/DIF. Or am I missing something. Looks like a sweet mixer though.

I've run my Numark TTX1 directly in to the MPC 1k via SP/DIF, but much prefer using the phono out and a preamp, I need that analog color.

Doesn't the TTX1 have a line out as well as a phono? by that i mean it can plug straight into the 1k's analog ins?

uhm, where ever you want. I have it under my table on a shelve. There is no buttons or knobs on it so you dont need to touch it. I recommend that u get one with an AC-adaptor. Some use 9-v batteries but does not have an electrical switch so they run out of power quick.

But, don't you gotta connect wires and shit to it?

It'll go between the record player and the MPC....it's like your middle man for sampling vinyl.

Only thing is, if you get that instead of the/a mixer, you won't be able to eq going in.....if that's important to you.
