Start point modulation

Is there a way to change where the sample starts playing from in a live context instead of just by editing?

The qlink can be set to adjust the attack of the amp envelope, but not where the sample actually starts playing from. Seems like it would be cool to be able to start a loop on the two sometimes to just pickup after the snare than always starting on kick on the one.

The closest thing I can come up with is exporting the loop with the later start point as a second sample. Then putting in a pgm on another pad or velocity layer or something.

I think that's the case. Although it would be a really great feature.
But now when Zoning (gaaah) comes it might work as a substitute for that.

The new software version should let you hit use the sliders to vary the start and end points, this should be hot.

I think there's also a velocity to start point, so the softer you hit the later into the sample it starts playing...

Oooh. Velocity control sounds sexy. Hot and heavy for these new things... Using tried and true methods until then I guess. Wonder if CC can be changed from veolocity to QLink or anything?

but not in a live enviornment. you would still have to go to trim mode to do that. i think the best thing is to do what you mentioned. trim to the later start point and save that as a new sample and put it in the program that you have your original sample.

When you hit the pads soft, mpc should add a bit of space in soft start and lessen the attack. Too bad newer mp's dont have this.
