Trigger Finger with MPC1000

I have an M-Audio TriggerFinger and I have connected it via midi and use it as a controller for the drum sounds of my Korg EMX-1. The Korg is great except it's sequencer quantizes and oversimplifies my playing on the triggerfinger. Because of this I am thinking of getting an MPC1000 for drum sounds.

I am wondering if anyone is using a triggerfinger with the mpc so as not to wear out the mpc pads and if you have had good luck with it.

I like the feel of the triggerfinger pads but have never played an mpc so I don't know how they might be different.

The MPC1000 has very nice pads and they are a lot better than the trigger finger pads IMO . Also with the weight of the MPC you can really bang out some nice drum patterns.

If you do pick up the MPC you will be a pretty happy camper and it is probably best you use the MPC pads. No use of them sitting there collecting dust right?

well the mpc pads are there to be used so i think its a litle overkill to get extra pads if the mpc pads arent broken...

I have connected my mpd 16 to my 1000 and it does work, but the pads aren't as responsive as the 1000's pads. In my opinion you're better off just using the 1000 by itself, why would you want to complicate your setup?

I am wondering if it is possible to use both the mpc and triggerfinger and set up different sounds on each set of pads? That could be useful.

thats odd. i have the same exact setup and i think the exact opposite.
i think the mpd16 pads are WAY better than the 1000 pads.

how could MPC pads break??....they are actually pretty solid....unless your being really, really mean to your MPC....and if they do break they are replacable.....the trigga finga with the MPC would be like bringing sand to the beach!!???!??!!

Like you said to each his own, no beef or anything.. but I really hate the mpd. It's cool the pads are bigger than on the 1000, but the velocity sensitivity is straight garbage and I get latency using it with the mpc's sequencer. Maybe I have a faulty mpd? </rant>

i switched from using the trigger finger with battery 2.0 to to mpc...and from what i can tell..its better of stickin with the PC pads..i mean velocity wise and pressure wise the akia pads are god when compared to any other midi based controllers pads...but ativiating samples from other banks is possible with tthe trigger fingers...personally, i thik the trigger finger had far more functionality than the MPD, since ive use both of em...i liek how the trigger finger lets you see the velocity ur hittin at right on the pad...what yall think?
