Whats up yall I know you guys probably get these alot but hear me out. First off a little background info i've been using a cracked version of Ableton (I know I know... I just wanted to start makin beats) for a while now and Im starting to feel like using software has got me feelin like im programming shit instead of makin music. A little later my friend let me borrow his maschine but i wasnt really feelin the software-hardware mix.

Now I've done my research but I wanna ask... Would an MPC 1000/2500 be a good investment even if this era of software becoming more popular?

The main thing that attracts me is being able to sample off a turntable (just got into crate digging instead of gettin samples off the internet, lol) and bang out beats on the MPC and when its all said and done.. track out to my comp to mix.

I guess you can say i've just been gettin caught up with the software hype with news of the renaissance and as a new producer I feel like the standalone MPCs will be obsolete soon enough. And it doesnt help that im at school for comp. engineering and hardware is my shit.. lol. I know this is long but thanks for takin your time to read and please help me decide!

Long story short, only you can decide what's right for you.

Im one hun with lamp...

You know I been using live since v6, but started off making beats on hardware...and been switchin back and forth...Software defntly helped me step my game up as far as quality content goes. But after long while makin beats on pc becomes somewhat boring and you wanna switch up your workflow. In that instance mpc will defntly bring in some fresh air to your studio. It is nice being able to just turn on the mpc and get to choppin samples. Other times you wanna contruct more complex instrumental beat from scratch and this is when you power on your pc...having luxury of both isnt bad thing....

I would say check out the 1000, but 2500 is only couple hun more so it really depends on you how far you wanna dig in your pockets. whatever you end up wit make sure to get good deal for resell purposes in case you decide its not for you...also if you after 1000, make sure you dont get the old model without the pad upgrade. there's tons of info on that around these parts
