hey guys. im looking for something that does beyond where im stuck with my korg esx 1. i love that thing but im a hoarter when it comes to deleting old beats. ive had it for 5 years and my 256 patterns are used up by now and i find myself having to delete patterns to create new ones. please dont tell me to just delete them because thats not the help im looking for
heres the load:
i want a machine that i can load samples, add my own music via midi, edit what ive recorded, and layer more(many many tracks) music without reaching limitations per song. also id like alot of storage room (more than like 16 songs).
sorry if the terminology for the respective machines is off or confuzed but i have alot going on in my mind.
ive been looking into the mpc 1000 but i dont wanna drop $500 on something that ill run into a wall with in 6 months of experienced use (after getting used to it).
i also looked into the other mpc's but i heard they are all generally the same. i need alot of sample time.
i also quickly looked at the roland mv8000. it sounds very nice when being described but it IRKS me that i cant go try out every machine and just decide that way. i have to go based on reviews and specs and other peoples opinions and watever, most of which probably do not have the same needs or wants in their production equiptment.
id like the machine to be able to toggle quantize (but that isnt a must i guess. idk. i imagine that it would greatly help in the humanizing of tracks, but i dont have that luxury on the esx1 and ive done just fine for 5 years.
basically in a nutshell, theres alot of music in my head that i want to get out. i dont want to be limited as the music in my head is not. effects are good. more effects are better since pretty much everything i do is from scratch and its hard to find that exact sound im looking for.
i make my own samples from anything and everything. (sometimes i even bang on the wall or stomp on the floor a hundred times attemting to recreate the sound my ear hears).(one of my clicks was actually a pen i threw against the wall; ironically the sample i ended up using was the one that broke the pen
lol)
anyway a ton of words later, u kno my story, please help
J
