hey guys my name is craig im new to this i have not bought a mpc yet i wanted ur input to make sure i get the right thing for what im wanting to do well i love electronic music with lots of bass i have never played arouind on a mpc but i have mess with a mixer just a lil bit i was thinking about getting the mpc2500 just want to know what guys think an am i going to be able to make electronic music with the 2500 any help would be great

yes you will be able to.
but you will need to learn a lot before you get anywhere near the kind of bass music that is popular these days (i think most of it is done with software honestly).

you should look up what a synth is, and what the terms mean (filter, LFO, lowpass, highpass, envelope, trigger, ADSR, modulation, etc etc)
look up what a sampler is and how it works
look up what a sequencer is and how it works

long story short, sequencers control synths and samplers. the mpc is a sequencer with an integrated sampler. a sampler does not make sound until you put sounds into it, a synth can create sounds from scratch.

finally, there are no rules and everything I've said could be considered wrong given the right circumstances. It's going to take a lot of hard work to make good tunes, there is no easy ticket to modern production. an mpc though is a great way to get there.

yes most of it is done on mac's now an i have softwear on my laptop an i something more in depth an i was thinking the mpc over synth bc i just want to take a basic beat an do what i want to it

Well , except for real drums... :)

And dude above... Not all Dub/Gorestep is on mac.. FLstudio is Windows only , and its more built for electronica music.. 9th wonder , and lex lugar just make it look like a rap beast.
