sequencing keyboard on the mpc

do you guys find it easy or hard to sequence melodies i=on the mpc?
i do alot of keyboard beats i know the mpc dosent have a step sequencer so how do i just keep adding on new sequences or new adds on over the original melody or original sequence?

Well, i do a lot of keyboard beats too. This is what i do.... I copy the sequence to a new sequence and add stuff over it, like a hook. then when i have a couple of different sequences. i use song mode.

what about quantizing considering there isnt a step sequencer do you pretty much get a feel for the right sound placement with half note quantize or just turn it off?

Have you tried recording the same sequence on a different MIDI type track?
