Nope. Basically you are hooking up your mpc to the mixer and then u are also recording from your mixer when in the sample screen. Which MPC u have? Sounds like to me u might be tryin to re-sample.

if you don't have the mpc outs going into the mixer, but going to the monitors, then all will be well. but if the mpc's outs go to a mixer input and the mixer's main outs go to the mpc's record ins, you will get a feedback loop when in record mode. if your mixer has effects sends, use those to send signals to the mpc record ins. you then just turn up the send on the channel you would like to record from. doing it the second way i described also ties up the main outs, which is kinda strange because the whole point of a mixer is to mix the inputs down to the main outs so that you can play the sound on speakers, if that sound is going to the mpc, then you won't be able to hear it. of course i don't think you'd have it that way, but plugging the effect send into therecord ins on the mpc is a much easier way to work.

The resampling function on the 2kxl is nothing but a bitrate conversion.

ahh i see. well whatever works works i spose, just be careful not to create loops in the signal path, and you should be fine. i definately recommend getting a mixer with effects send though, especially if you have a lot of outboard gear you want to sample, the method i suggested above is a very easy way to have things set up.

peace.
