man thers so many different methods to digging/sampling/making beats/sexing/balling/cooking/dancing/etc. my point being everyone has there own way of doing everything. i think the ease comes with practice.
im not gna lie bro, i was getting frustrated aswell, thinking surely the way kayne/dre/alc/dilla/madlib bang out beats non-stop there must be a hidden method to digging/sampling but then i saw a video with alchemist and he said he will spend aaaaaages going through records just to find the perfect sound, so that made me feel a lil more confident to know that professionals face the same problems as i. if it was a case of u didnt have to listen to stacks of vinyl to find ure sound i honestly think making music would be boring.....
sumthing i like to do though and im sure many people do aswell, is if i hear a nice sample on say a jdilla track, ill find out who the sampled artist is and then ill check their catalogue and then find out what other artists fit in with that genre.....i see it as slightly cheating but it just opens you up to so much music, like thers many jazz/soul/rock/arabic/etc artists that i would have never heard of had i not checked who so-and-so sampled. dont look for the easy route man, just enjoy the ride
