Question about file transfer

I was wondering if its possible to drop folders of drum kits from usb thumb drive using the front usb port to hard drive ..or is AK.sys the only way ?

I would like to know this as well....I hate aksys.

No, but you can create a folder in the MPC, but you have to load the sound into RAM before you save them to the HDD. Sux donkey balls...

Why wouldn't you drag and drop complete folders using aksys?

I never had a single problem with that procedure using win xp!

Well, for me, I am using Mac OSX. That may be the problem, seems Windows users don't have near the problems I am facing with aksys. IF it doens't crash, I can usually drag/drop one folder before I have to restart the program. Once I get most of my drums/etc on the harddrive it won't be a big deal, because I'll just drag my chops over, but right now I'm trying to transfer my drums from my 1000 to my 4000, so it's a bit of a pain.

I had the same nightmare on my WIN7 machine. Ak.sys would sh1t the bed anytime I moved more than one folder. I had about 8GB over samples to drag over so that was not going to happen. I used and old XP machine and it worked fine. I faired MUCH better just getting an external USB drive and hooking that up.

Same here, I am a Mac user with snow leopard.

During the sample transfer procedure 50% of the times it crashes, and files never transfer.


I don't know if its a bug or not but it's rather annoying.

Whenever a new version of OSX comes out I am SOOOOOO worried about AkSys never being able to work again

ak.sys does not like nested folders.

Funnily enough i was wondering this myself a few nights ago, was bugging the hell out of me. Thought i'd missed something real simple, as over the years I'd always used AKSYS but couldn't be arsed to switch my PC on. The RAM load is the only way to do it, but then again I've never had aksys crash on me, not once, and my PC is a crapped out Dinosaur of a machine running XP.
Personally i like Aksys, if you play around with it you can pretty much control most features in each section ie.. Program, Mixer, Multis etc... It's old school, but that's the way i like it
