No, there is no such connection offered. However, if you have a PC (or Mac) you can utilize AKsys, which allows you to do lots of the editing and sample prep on the PC.
Could the 3ooo? Really? Are you sure you are not thinking of the DSP3216 (whatever) hard disk recorder that AKAI made?
Are you sure that you cant hook up a vga monitor to the mpc 4000. This UK website say that you. I'm not sure if I trust this site though.

Oh yea, so it does - that's rather odd, Turnkey are usually quite reliable. Well, my 4ooo definatly has no VGA output on the back and there is no expansion board listed in the manual to such an effect.

The vga out on the 3 thousand simply give you the option to see exactly what you can already see on the 3k screen. Nothing more nothing less. Not very necessary and not nearly as useful as Ak.sys
