Im buying a ibook man...

Why?

1. Im so tired of selling my gear down the line and buying new stuff all the time.

2. Akai (Numark) piss me off with their unloving businessdontcaredroposjustforthemoneyblabla way and im not gonna fall for this capitalist crap man...

3. I might... just buy the black cover because black and white is the ish.

Id rather spend 999 bux on a ibook to go with my Mpc1000 where i can just take my memorycard and just put it in the PC-Card slot and flip my samples if i cant do it on the 1k. And i will still have a wicked and portable setup. Besides it can do alooot of other stuff!

I mean, can the 2500 surf porn?

I own an iBook and they are excellent. I don't use it for music. Get a PowerBook for that.

You don't have to sell your gear to upgrade all the time. Just find something you like and use it for at least a few years. New gear is coming so rapidly now that you can't hold on to it forever and expect to compete when somethng else can do the same thing better and faster. But you can still use it for a few years and then upgrade.

AKAI always releases buggy gear and then tries to fix it with updates which they don't do a good job at a lot of the time. You have to get used to it if you want to stay with AKAI. Roland releases gear that's debugged way better than AKAI but Roland will quickly abandon it if new technology or competing products come along. Ask anyone who bought a Fantom-S.

imho, laptops are a better value than mpc2500 because you can do more with a lappy.

- internet connection
- watch movies
- itunes/store mp3/listen cds
- make music/beats (sequence, chop, record audio, master your tracks,vst(i)s)
- write papers/create spreadsheet
- create the cover for your cd
- play games
- create your own dvd or cd

trueness both of you, it will be great with my MobilePre USB soundcard

I might also get the HD expansion for my 1k

then i will be like superman, but in the studio!

I agree..it appears that an iBook will fit your needs. Everyone doesn't need to own an MPC....

By the way..the MPC 2500 is working just fine with the initial 1.00 OS.

But I must say this.


The Computer that I had 10 years ago, a Mac Plus, is sitting in the corner unused, Goodwill is unwilling to take it


The Sampler that I had 10 years ago, an Akai S-950 is still plugged into my Studio and being used, and is almost going for the same amount now that I bought it for then...

So do remember the long haul when making present decisions

Tell the buyer of the S-950 that you'll throw in a free Mac Plus.

No PC card slot on the powerbook either, it's a mac, not a PC.

hmm im quite sure that i saw a pc-card slot on a friends powerbook. But its 2 years old but still very good.. so if i want pc-card i guess i have to get a older one.. and i will save money

powerbook has cardbus slot 15" & 17" only

no card slot on 12"

i wanna get a ozonic too, any one got it?

i had an ozone (which is the same as the ozonic but usb). i sold it because it had no midi input which pi$$ed me off. i'm looking on getting an x-station in the near future to replace it. check out the x-station before you buy an ozonic.
