Hard drive noise?

Hard drive noise?

I tried to find a thread on this but didn't see one. Anyone that owns a 2500 can you tell me. With a hard drive installed when you are not using it is it still running ; like the floppy on the 2kXL or does it kind of go into a sleep mode. And when it runs is it noisy?

Tell you the truth, I can't hear it at all.
Its pretty silent.
