You guys (you know who you are 
) are on the money. Good lookin for making backups on the files just in case the party stopped!!! I did the same thing too yo!!! 
... cuz i thought, after the JJ released the simult function then the site went down for a little bit that.... Wakai sicked their robo-lawyers to shut the JJ down on some ish like: "Alright we need to make money on our more expensive larger models... STOP IT!!!!" It's only logical to think that they would be made to cease and desist due to the fact that they were doing the very thing that Wakai WOULD NOT do: Satisfy their existing loyal customers who already spent their hard earned money on their MPC 1000's and create complacency. But, the general non-reading/learning public pre o.s. 2.01 is basicaly given the option (that's if wakai had their way) to: A. make due with the MPC 1000 stripped to all hell, or B. spend thousands$$$$ more on equipment with 'more features'. Which is very F****D up due to the fact that those new and old features can be programed in the MPC 1000 due to the fact that the MPC 1000 and the mpc 2500 have the same processor. 
If you don't belive me just look at the voices and note capacity on both models.

(But think about this, based on appearance alone, the average person would think the MPC 1000 is inferior to the mpc 2500. Due to the fact that it has 8 analog outs, 4 midi outs, and the standard pads. Not really. All these features are pretty much cosmetic. with the extra money you'll have after purchasing an MPC 1000 instead of an mpc 2500 go and purchase a multitrack recorder or a protools m-box to track your beats then you'll see what I mean )

Does anyone remember how the MPC 1000 was when it first came out?! I bought mine in Nov. 2004 broke as a joke. I really wanted an mpc 2000xl cus Pete Rock used one, and well im a fan, but in the end I could not finance it.....
. I REALLY WANTED AN MPC So I had to get what i could afford. It was a shame how WAKAI brought out the MPC 1000 with LESS FEATURES than the mpc 60!!! Wakai should be ashamed of themselves! Who would've thought 2 years later it would be like this!
Who would've thought that MPC 1000 owners would have the best support in the world!!!
I'm very happy!!!! If you want to buy an MPC. Please do yourself a favor and save your money. Get an MPC 1000 with the JJ O.S.
P.S. In the end is spending the $2000 to purchase an mpc 2500 worth it? After the $30 i spent bout a week ago i came to this conclusion...

yeah sure! ). Most of us longtime members should remember the plethora of noobie posts pre o.s 2.01 last year. It drove me nuts!!! Regardless of all the negativity i came across being an MPC 1000 owner. 
I went from wanting to sound like Pete Rock, DJ Premier, and J-Dilla to wanting to sound like me. And that my fellow musicians, takes
