when did you get yours?
my theory is that roger eventoff, creator of the original interlink electronics FSR, has been hired to redo the original MPC 1000 pads. i figured this from talking to him on the phone about a month back. same technology, but apparently a little more durable. however, even these seem to be breaking for other people after extended use.
the mpc pads are/were/have been structured like this:
the latter was held above (not touching) the former by 4 pinhead sized dots of silicone glue. pinhead, like the guy who designed this sensor.
when the pads were triggered, the rubber would be bent down toward the active copper area. this stressed both the rubber and the silicone glue. eventually, the rubber would "slough" and a thin streak of it would come off on the silicone, which would stay attached to the fiberglass sensor. the rubber would come loose and float around the pad. and the pad would be broken.
the 4 dots of glue were simply not enough to hold all the moving parts together. AWFUL idea, AWFUL implementation, and AWFUL manufacturing.
