i disagree. the machines are of the same family...same DNA so to speak...the 500's quantize isnt better than the 2500...just means there may have been a bug in your 2500 or you couldnt figure out how to work it.
Not for lack of knowledge. MPC's aren't rocket science. It's just to my ears I think the 2500's timing is garbage. Even when I try to quantize it perfectly 1/16, it still kind of seems the drum hits are one to two milliseconds behind where they should be on the 1 and the 3 and the 2 and the 4, sometimes. Not all the times. And I know I'm not the only one who thinks the 25k sequencer doesn't start recording when it should: http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php ... t=quantize . You shouldn't have to go to grid edit to get a tight sequence. I've also tried this thing extensively at three different Guitar Centers, even going as far as sampling loops from a portable cd player. Same results. I was really serious about getting one, but these timing issues are inexcusable for a beat machine. I'm looking into coppin a 3k or maybe even a 500 now.
