I got one... first one blew up after 4 beats, and couldn't recover...

Akai replaced it, and this one is perfect as well. wouldnt even atempt to upgrade this one to os2, (unless its running it already)??

I love it every day more and more.

still use all my mpc's tho. they all do good and bad things, get over the whining... you shouldn't be able to load 3000 samples in a row on am mp... sample. trim, tap... that s what they are for. if your shit runs too slow, then go back to reason fools.

Another one in Germany.
Working perfectly... ;-)

I'm still trying to find out and understand why there's so much hate about this machine.

That's exactly my thoughts too.

Ill be more active when I finish school in may and can devote all my time over the summer to this great machine. I think all the hate comes from some weak minds who don't know how to properly handle such a complex machine.

Well, perhaps over the summer also you've become one of those "hateful weak minded" as you allude to... (just teasing)

no f'n technique.

the heads that know how to freak lesser mp's know that you don't need to drop 3000 snares via usb into a program.

some negative comments on MPC might come from people who have not only an MPC , but actually have a lot of other gear they can compare it to.
consider me one of these people.
softwaredriven hardware (yes your MPC is just the same computer you all love to hate) that is not updated in more then 1 year is just a joke, again I am comparing agains gear of the same or even far lower price (machinedrum, blofeld, monomachine, virus, soft-synths, ...)
MPC5000 a complex machine ? don't think so, that's also the succes of the MPC's, it is in fact just a very simple machine.
but try something just a little more complex, let's say try to edit a filter sweep, and you'll see quickly how restricted the machine can be for users that need more then just laying down a two bar kick/snr/sample-from-a-record loop.

Most people only have an MPC, so yes, if they can not compare it to anything else, it is the best machine out there...
