some negative comments on MPC might come from people who have not only an MPC , but actually have a lot of other gear they can compare it to.
consider me one of these people.
softwaredriven hardware (yes your MPC is just the same computer you all love to hate) that is not updated in more then 1 year is just a joke, again I am comparing agains gear of the same or even far lower price (machinedrum, blofeld, monomachine,virus, soft-synths, ...)
MPC5000 a complex machine ? don't think so, that's also the succes of the MPC's, it is in fact just a very simple machine.
but try something just a little more complex, let's say try to edit a filter sweep, and you'll see quickly how restricted the machine can be for users that need more then just laying down a two bar kick/snr/sample-from-a-record loop.
Most people only have an MPC, so yes, if they can not compare it to anything else, it is the best machine out there...
