Talking about quantize again. I was looking through the MPC 4000 manual and that is exactly the way I think it should be on the 5000. Akai went with the 2500 implementation which is a step backwards.
On the 4k you can audition the settings in real time while the T.C. window is open before you commit. This is a big deal and the 2500/5000 way is a major step backwards.
I also see that the 4k has a separate mode button that turns quantize recording on or off. Here if you only quantize after recording you don't have to change the note value to the off position each time after quantizing before recording.
Last, on the 4k the note range field are on one page with swing etc. so you don't have to pull up two separate pages for quantize. Again the 5k borrowed the two screens from the 2500 that had a reduced screen size. This is no longer necessary on the 5000 because of the larger screen.
I would like the 4k implementation with the addition of the strength and window parameters.
