from s1000 to .akp, it gets the pitches right, but sustains the notes endlessly when you try to play them ( i tried adjusting the release
in program mode, but it doesnt change it. in trim, the samples all play fine-
any thoughts ??
d

ps- i guess i should clarify that translator converts to akp ok for playback on an akp native sampler, but
the screwups happen when the 5k tries to play those converted progs :)

Hmmmmm! Try this...

In EDIT PROGRAM on MPC5k (Mode > PROGRAM), move the cursor to the sample name and press WINDOW. What does it say for playback? I am suspecting it's showing ONE SHOT. If so, set KGP: to MUL (multiple pads), move cursor to the appropriate layer and select NOTE ON.

That should sort it.

If it's not that, I have no idea what the problem could be.

However, I am suspecting Translator is flagging the S5000's PLAYBACK parameter in the program in such a way that the MPC5k doesn't like it. But I could be wrong.
