Let the conscious blacks answer if racism and racial stereotypes/imagery are "conspiracy" or fact.

Do you live in America or have you ever been here...?

I think the answer is likely no. But you go get Al Sharpton to sort this out if you want...

Well the unconscious blacks are not going to have much to say, so yes, let the conscious blacks answer!

What is the answer, conscious blacks?

Okay, let's keep this civil.

Clearly pk1 was NOT referring to race in his original comments, he was merely pointing out that Akai's suggestion that they used 'big name' producers to help design the Ren was most likely just marketing BS. He did not mention colour. Most people get what he was saying.

If anyone wants to have a discussion about use of racial stereotypes in marketing, start a thread in Off Topic.

Other than that, no name calling please.

Worse part of it all is not that they were black, dancing around or anything of that sort.
The real issue was that they were somewhat outdated producers, great mind you but in a past era.

Very questionable what they could bring to the table in a product designed to take your company in a new direction.
I could see going back to them to design a retro hardware MPC to offer the past to new customers but not for a new direction product.

Now as if that wasn't funny enough, NI went after many of those same producers with the Studio.
Seems they figured that would look good to see them now supporting the Studio or get the attention of the Ren market?

Bad marketing seems to be what the world expects and companies go out there way to deliver. :(

Well NI normally has a more even mentality but the Studio release is definitely them doing, for lack of better term "ghetto marketing".

They are going after the Urban American market aggressively, maybe because that has always been a strong MPC market.

From where I stand Maschine is still a long way off from replacing any of my MPCs, Ren included.

V2 brought a lot of nothing to the table since the sequencer still is the fail point for me.
The Studio is more about bling, bling than functionality on so many levels, so it doesn't really address the problems with Maschine.

Akai just needs to put their focus on debugging and stability then go with the feature set.
Maybe Akai needs to setup a better method of bug reporting for registered users?

they are right here in this thread ignoring the whole race card you are trying to pull. and back on the second page you called em coons. dude you really need to settle down. nobody cares about the race topic including our black members. they have completely avoided your topic. so do the same please.

on the keyboard thing i felt that the triton sounds where just to played out. like all that early 2000 was all triton. so the sounds are exhausted. i never bought one but the phantoms seem real sick. great sounds great kits. not sure why the sequencer was like. did you ever try messing with those phantom g8 or any of their line?

tutor you have any blue 4000's you want to part with? how have you been liking your? did you only grab that to build kits for? or do you use that one?
