Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

Hello,

Trying to export individual tracks from an MPC sequence that is using 12 plugin tracks of a 16 channel Kontakt instance.

I'm exporting and checking the individual tracks option yet I'm still only getting a single stereo track. Am I missing something or will the Ren not work the way I am hoping?

Thanks,

D

The Mpc software current export options are really terrible at the moment, I dont know many people who create tracks the way Akai assumed for the Ren.

Track 1 - Kick
Track 2 - Snare
Track 3 - Hat

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I perform most of the take in realtime, or at the very least the kick n snare, while I might lay the hats down 1st. Then plenty of other instruments, within one program, one track. Yeh weird huh?

There is no simple way to export pads in a program, so you have the Akai abnormal way of thinking, and have to export the midi or solo each pad, record in your daw, which both make the workflow for mixdown/bouncing down/exporting sounds a complete mess in this software.

This was my 1st complaint in version 1.0, and 6 updates later, there's still not enough people who don't either appreciate the Native Instruments Maschine drag n drop or export single sounds workflow all just within a program. Still scratching my head, as to why there isn't an outrage from beatmakers, and producers on that 1. lol

It's **** nuts, or nucking futs

AHH another huge complaint of mine still at 1.0 when I wrote them, I mean literally contacted support, maybe 20 minutes after loading the software in my daw, was why in the hell, does the Mpc software not allow Midi out? Every hardware Mpc worked the same, you could set up a midi track in a daw, and get a midi signal from the mpc, record in your daw by tapping the pads on your mpc, you had midi out.

This is still not possible in the current Mpc software, you must use the export midi options,so another complete workflow killer, but NO outraged mpc heads? Weird, you see what I mean, it's complete nonsense, these issues with a hardware Mpc would've made mpc heads lose their mind, but because it's software, which is 10 times more flexible then hardware, if coded right, still not a peep, And here we are today, and these MAJOR issues still aren't addressed from Akai. I don't care about the standalone product personally. Akai please Support the DAW features for those of us who need that workflow..

Crazy

I agree 100%!!

These are 2 of my biggest issues with the ren as well. Since day one!

I think there are many people like us who feel the same, but they are not active on this forum (like myself. I mostly just read threads).

Really hope they fix this for the next update.

They truly did things backwards when developed this software. I feel like they left out many hardware mpc features that people love, and kept some of the aspect that you hate. Like, who wants to spend time on dumping tracks in realtime etc, when it should just be as simple as click and drag.

It's definitely going in the right direction with the updates, but I don't understand how they didn't figure these things out from the beginning. I really don't think the team behind this product are longtime mpc users...

Appreciate the info. Has this been added as a feature request? While bouncing down 16 tracks (16 individual bounces) isn't the end of the world, it's not exactly a smooth workflow.

yeah it kinda sucks...
How much of kontakt do you use.. IF it's just to play back instruments(basic playback soundmodule) can the kontakt player be use instead? ie you load a instance for each patch in the kontakt player on seprate tracks.(on the midi tracks..)
A work around...

Midi out while using as a plugin is still restricted to DAW out. We want the option to output midi to the physical midi ports like one can do while in stand alone mode.

and exporting track stems is easy, how fast can it get? You say you want the hardware mpc method of tracking out with midi anyways but exporting a track in 5 seconds isn't that even faster/easier?

Although I agree that exporting on the software is much easier then using its hardware counterpart - its current export "work arounds" are the primary reason my brand new mpc studio sits in its box in the closet...

I've brought up the Ren's (software) lack of MIDI OUT-to-DAW functionality several, several times (search my posts). I've even reached out to Pete about it. No answer. Folks either claim not to know what I'm talking about or it just completely gets swept under the rug. :x

I know exactly what you are talking about.

Being limited to a single MIDI output port from the MPC Software plugin is a severe limitation.

I really want to see 4 simultaneous MIDI output ports from the MPC Software plugin, either directly to external MIDI ports, and/or as a second choice, into the DAW so they can be routed to external MIDI ports, in a future update.

For my uses, directly to external MIDI output ports from the plugin would be my preference, but I can see that other users probably want multiple MIDI ports into the DAW, for controlling software instruments, and other uses, within the DAW.

I use more VSTs than samples and this has been that shit that I don't like....
