over torqued screws holding up the 60 II screen

i recently bought a used 60 II, I'm trying to change the backlight out and 3/4 of the screws are over torqued. Any advice on removing them without stripping the phillips heads at all?

I've had that happen before, and the way I got arount it was by using a power drill on reverse at a low/mid speed
you'll probably make things worse if you try using a screwdriver on it
if you don't wanna do it yourself you might be able to take it to an electronics shop and let them do it for you (probably for a small fee)

thanks. I just used a bigger phillips style drill bit and went at it with the lowest torque setting. Now the lcd is easy to work on. I upgraded the backlight with the version that Matt is selling on ebay. Now i can work with my 60 II and eps in the dark. it seems like whoever serviced my 60II went in at a high torque and didn't hear the click.

glad it worked - I never use a power drill when taking apart/putting together electronics - I find you're way more likely to strip screws - just use the right size old fashioned screw driver. glad the backlight worked out. I'm rocking a 60 and an eps as well. eps pretty much kills the mpc imo except for the sequencer and pads
