asr10 vs. 60 chopping

Yeah, I have a bunch of manuals, for the rack. I read the smaller ones and browsed the parts of the large on that I was into. Yeah, resampling I know I'll mess with, disktracks I'm not sure, but what really has me wanting it is the wavetable stuff.

You might want to mess with the Tranzillian program and see what it does for you.

Yup, I'm up on that and epsilon too, I'll probably make a few WT with it, then just warp shyt in the sampler, which I hear is one of it';s strong points

What's gonna drive you crazy is when you stop tho think the company that designed the ASR-10, the DP effects processors and the PARIS system failed as a company.

Yeah it's been buggin me for a while. I;ve been wanting to mess with these features for about 3 years. They also had the poly aftertouch technology on lock and still screwed up. It's really bizarre how business works.

The big Emu's have mega-sampletime, lots of features etc but they are still the typical sampler type features.

The ASR has a lot of proprietory stuff going on that other sampler never did, can't do and probably still won't do for a while (if ever).
A lot of stuff they guys at Ensoniq came up with would have turned the music industry upside down it they had been a bigger compnay.

Finances killed the ASR, since that was what made them take the cheaper design format of the MR-synth add sampling and make the ASR-x/x-Pro.
Those boxes carried the ASR name nothing more.
Things as simple as getting to 32meg, being able to convert SMF and WAV could have saved the ASR.

what does the asr have that other don't?

Does the asr 10 rack sound different if so how? I have a kx88 and am thinking about getting the asr or the emu 4xt would the asr rack be a better choice
