It depends what you want and how you like to work, the W30 sequencer sucks, but it has a good sound, the EPS is cool too. Read up on them and see which fits you better.

See Andreas? People are already sweating your set up! ;)

thats me, I got a w30, had it since 1995, it was my first sampler. Very , very hard to get around on. However, as my man elmacaco points out, the w30 has a cool sound, the "internal sounds are nothing to write home about, but when you sample into it, and I havent done that since 1996(AND I will do it soon again) the bass is deep , thick, brilliant. Look, I bought it used in 1995 cause I heard E double had it. Now, the going price is in the 400's. After I got the w30, frustrated cause the sequencer almost made me toss it(thats where the 60 comes in) anyway, I then got a sp 12, bought it in south central from, a reggae producer for (get this) 800$.

So now I sit with the 60(the crown jewel) sp 303 (lets you get creative) the w30 (potential is f*ckin great with the 60) and the sp 12, which I just love looking at, but can make the same drums in my 60. But hey, the 12 has that "sound" that I love, 12 bit grit.

Elmacaco, what up with MAGIX?

MattMatiks PG wrote:MAGIX is a company I believe... When I first started I used some MAGIX product called MAGIX Music Studio 6 or something like that... It's a horrible program... I got it at Best Buy when I first started and knew nothing about production... It works off of Loops... So basically all those beats are are preset loops... I think it has some synth capabilities in the Full Version, but they're pretty bad and hard to get a grip on...

hold up, homey, you mean the loops are preset??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????/
WTF? THATS BULLSH*t IF THATS TRUE! THATS WEAK!

I think you can sample with MAGIX as well so don't kill the kid just yet. But it does come with a whole lot of preset sounds and loops.

Yea I mean you can do other things with that program... But I'd bet that he's uses preset Loops... I mean there are much better programs to produce with than that... I can't see that'd he'd be usin MAGIX unless he was using the loops, but it's possible...

For real... I'm green with envy...
I got an 2000XL and a SP-505... After readin this forum I wanna hook up my 505 to my MPC... After that I think I'm gonna get an S950 to add some grit to my sound... Since 60s are goin for mad money on eBay...

Down the line I wanna get a W30 cause I've been readin up on it and hearin more people talkin about it... I figure too many people got the ASR or EPS 16... I hate followin the crowd cause then too many people have the same sound... The W30 sounds sweet....

When I get that whole set up together I'll be set...

800 Bucks for an SP... Holy sh!t was he a crack addict pawnin his sh!t... I'd kill for an SP at that price...

I see them gor for a lot more than that... If you want one in good condition... I seen em go for 400, but the ones in really good condition can cost mor than a 2000XL on eBay... It's crazy... I've seen em go for like 1200 on there

Anyways El... What you think about gettin an S950 and sequencing it through my 2000XL to add some grit to my sound.... I think it should do well... Then get the W30 down the line...
