Hi guys,
This is my first post and sadly it's not one I'm happy to be making. I purchased a mpc 60ii from the states and got a step down converter for it since I am in Australia and we use 220-240V here. Unfortunately due to my inexperience with converters I thought I had to switch the converter to 220v for it to be stepped down to 110V. The mpc powered up with only the screen coming on for no more than 2-3 seconds before it shut down. There was noise but no smoke, sparks or smells coming for the actual mpc. There was however a hissing sound like when you have a bad electrical connection. The converter did die, and smelled of burnt plastic which it still does I am just wondering if I have blown any fuss on the mpc since there didn't seem to be any of the mentioned issues. I am going to try and get a new converter for so I can test it out. Any advice would be greatly appreciated guys. I always come here first if I'm looking for answers. And I did use the search bar before hand
Thanks in advance.
Mel.
