My floppy drive is busted so i am searching for a new one.You said that the TEAC FD-235HF with the large jumper block on the back will work.The thing is i don't know much , regarding electronics or reading electronic charts.do you think this might works?

Someone said that they got the top one to work, but the bottom one will not.

I tried Djames jumper settings on a 60 with OS 2.12 OS and it didn't work, it could be that something on the floppy circuitry in the 60 is **** up, but I don't know yet.

Thanks for the reply Elmacaco.But i can't understand alll this about jumper settings ,floppy circuitry e.t.c .I thought , all i have to do is get the proper floppty and conect it to the cables that are already at my 60.The yellow cable to the 4-pin jumper block(for the power) and the other to the black 17-pin block (for the data).Am i wrong?

yes

The 4 pin jumper block is not the power connector, they all have that. The jumper is in the top picture, it is black and has the white rectangle connecting two pins. That is the 4 pin jumper bloack, the larger one is larger, and has more of those white rectangles (jumpers).

The 60 we were trying to fix may have had some other problem affecting the floppy, since it had a replacement floppy in it with jumpers and such but even our replacement didn't work.

Do you have OS 3.10? Drives are cheap, but if you get them off ebay make sure you ask them to make sure it has the jumper block.

Yeah he's right. I'm not sure about the 4 pin single jumper block, but the larger block should have worked fine. Or maybe I just have a special MPC Someone did say they got the small jumper block to work though. Here is the link to that post. http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=22097

I have the 3.1os.But sorry i still can't understand what you are saying.Additionally english is not my mother language so i have some difficulties.Thank you for your help so far.It would be nice if you could post some pictures of a proper teac drive conected properly to an mpc 60.That would be really helpfull.

My mother language is Greek and i am afraid that no one here knows how to speak Greek.About the floppy pics that i mentioned earlier.Can you Elmacaco or someone else - who connected a Teac drive - help me out and post some pics.That would be very helpfull for me and all the other mpc 60 users who have this problem.Cause sincerely i don't know what to do.And i can't make any attempts with many teac drives on my own , because in order to get one i have to buy it from e-bay and even if i buy it for $5 , with shiping it will cost about $50!!! to get to me here at greece.So a photo may be what i need right now.

This is a photo of my damaged floppy drive (which is the stock mitsubisi model) i took today.The jumper and cable settings are pretty simple.The one goes to the 17-pin jumper and the other to the 4-pin jumper.

I just got a new jumper block setting that worked on a 60 with 3.03.

I'm going to post it in a new topic, or with the other floppy thread, so we have the alternatives up.

Oh and in that last pick, the jumper is not where the cables connect, the jumper is that small row of pins in black plastic next to the white power connector with the black plstic jumper over two of the pins.
