However, I hear the 3000/60 do not have this. How do you chop up sounds in these MPCs if they don't have this display? I'm just wondering because I'm thinking of getting a 3000. Thanks for any help.
The MPC60 and MPC3000 have wave form editing in the good old fashioned
numerical way.
SECONDS.MILLISECOND.SAMPLES
That and a "BEST START" amplitude threshold detector.
Download the MPC3000 manual as a PDF from the archives section of
www.akaipro.com; http://www.akaipro.com/archives.php
Read chapter 8 of the downloaded MPC3000 manual for more information about it's sample editing capabilites.
Read also the 3.1 addendum section of the downloaded manual to see what additional sample editng functions were added.
Note also that if the MPC3000 is fitted with Mansell-Labs Vailixi 3.50 operating system then it will have additional "chop" functions to speed up and ease the creation of new samples from existing ones.
To get more information on the MPC60 sample editing function you can peruse the user manual available for download at
