It's high time that internet speeds and allowed bandwidth was boosted.
Having my audio projects saved in the cloud? Nah. My ISP would hate my data usage, it would take hours to save my stuff... Not happening.
Security in the cloud? Nah. Every month I hear of a breach and everyone having to change their passwords or something.
If your data is online it is vunerable. No getting round that.
Jamming online?
Better make sure you're not trying to do it at peak times or when your neighbours decide to download or upload summat large, like their cloud data.
Dunno man.... This cloud revolution seems to be a long, long way away to me. Maybe in 20 years will the infrastructure be ready... But still no getting away from security issues.
With the current state of the American Tier 2 ISP physical infrastructure, this does seem like a far cry. But I believe as computing becomes rapidly even more available and efficient (as it always is doing), that in the somewhat near future the common ISP will be forced to overhaul their distribution systems to meet bandwidth demand imposed by increasingly cloud-distributed enterprise cluster virtualization.
This will most likely have a trickle down effect to the average consumer, where we will be offered fast, but simple fiber up links that converge upon fiber backbone that will be capable of throughput that is wider in orders of magnitude than what we have today.
And as far as security goes: hackers never sleep, but neither do the cryptographers that help to invent cutting edge protocols (they are often the same person

I was exaggerating to a great extent. But some amazing things will be possible soon.
I would say that maybe things of that extreme nature aren't going to happen tomorrow, but it's probably closer than you think.
