Yeah so I received a track that needed some elements to be added so i recorded it into the LIVE.
7 minute song (House track) at 120 BPM is roughly ~210 ish beats.
So I made a sequence that was 240 beats in length ( I even did 400 beats in one other test).
Recorded through the line in at 44.1
exactly at the 5 minute mark the LIVE will stop recording, but the REC and PLAY buttons are still lit and nothing tells you on the screen or anywhere that its no longer recording.
no other tracks recorded. no timestretch. plenty of memory. low RAM usage. 2% CPU.
i can load the song in as an .mp3 (that's how I received it) , assign it to the pad, hit the pad and as long as i dont stop it it will play in its entirety (7 minutes).
if i make another take and re-attempt, it still stops at 5 minutes down to the tick.
there is no limitations in the manual as to how long you can records an audio track, but you can record a sample for 20 minutes.
could be a forced limitation by akai, but i find it strange this is not mentioned in the manual. all the manual says is the sequence needs to be as long as the part being recorded , which, in this case, it is.
standalone mode only. never used the software.
