Crazy that it may be from winter Namm 16 to winter namm 17 before we receive any information.
yup it is messed up in todays time of open communication channels these companies choose not to communicate
I get it to an extent: it's super hard to give out any good estimations in the software world, as coding may take unexpected turns. I've seen companies such as Slate Digital apologising a lot for not meeting promised deadlines, and peeps have been busting their balls.
I understand you don't want to be updating peeps all the time, but some companies that people like a lot (Slate, SKnote, Melda, etc.) seem to be doing that on Gearslutz and other forums, and it's good practice and makes you feel that the company is excited about the product and on the same wavelength with its users. That way people also forgive you for taking your time with the product.
A complete silence this long after announcing a product isn't the way to go these days, imho, as it creates a bit of a cocky impression when there's people roasting you on social media all the time and you ain't saying anything. I'm sure there's some peeps already thinking it may not be coming at all and there's probably some dudes who've decided "Phuk it" and bought a Push 2 instead. Which is good.
Even a public post about product every 3 months in the lines of "We're working on it!" + a pic or something would give the fanbase some faith and keep them thirsty in a good way.
