...but I am also waiting for news on a new Key 61!
expect a long wait if the gen1 release spacing is anything to go by; key 61 came out in june 2022 about 5 years after the og X was released, the gen 1 release order was as follows:
2017- Live mk1 & MPC X
2019 -MPC Force
2020 - MPC One & MPC Live 2
2022 - MPC Key 61
2023 - MPC X SE & MPC One+
2024 - MPC Key 37
Assuming Akai intend to release in the same order, which appears to be the case,as we seen the Live 3 drop first before the new flagship X
I do think the release process may be expedited for the next gen releases, as the products already exist and they are just updating them.
So after the X flagship expect the MPC Force replacement, followed by the MPC One (MPC Two)
It seems Akai dont release more than two hardware devices per year, So I expect the Force replacement by end of 2026, which means we have to wait until 2027 for MPC Two and a new Key 61.
So basically we are expecting 6 new devices to refresh the existing gen 1 line; I need to look at the old threads where dusty finger hacked the software and exposed of AVC hardware codes, cos if there is more then 6 devices then we will be getting wildcard new hardware devices (MPC mini perhaps, lol)
But ultimately once they drop the MPC Two then I will make a call between getting that MPC Two or just getting the Live 3 as dat device has grown on me, after initally thinking it was overly cluttered and a bit ugly.
