I've tested it a lot yesterday and all last night too.
It definitely works much much better than before (ie: doesn’t freeze, sometimes multiple times, per session anymore).
I also (normal, not force reboot) restarted machine probably 20x yesterday at different times, trying to recreate the issue to no avail.
But, the problem still / finally arose again after using it all day/night; just one time, while browsing menu/pref-page and required a force reboot.
After that, it didn't happen again at all for another 2 hours of use and worked properly.
But, one time is enough; esp. in only 1 day of testing and the problem still arose, and not an entire week of testing (ie: I couldn't even get through a single day with no unresponsive-touchscreen problems).
So, yeah, I think it's safer to just exchange it while it's still within the return/warranty window.
Already started the return/exchange process and the new replacement unit is already shipping out to me today.
