I still use tubesynth much more than MiniD because it has much better modulation options.

True, but a developer developing the sequencer or making a more advanced sampler is a developer not developing plugins.
And without plugins, you get fewer people buying the product because hardly anyone wants to create more complex sampler patches.
The market has spoken. REALITY 1010.

Not gonna happen. Roland and Korg both have their own VST versions of their 'flagship' romplers. Korg hasb oth the M1 and the Triton, Roland even has an XV one as well. I highly doubt either one is going to license that content to the competition. Akai never had a rompler of their own so they'll have to take it from someone else.

HouseWithoutMouse wrote:That's not how it works. Synthesizer and rompler are not instruments. Yamaha DX-7 is an instrument, Prophet 5 is an instrument, etc. and Roland JV-1080 is an instrument. If you've learned how to play the Roland JV-1080, you want exactly that instrument, not "a rompler". There is a reason why the JV-1080 was and is popular and useful. The reason is not that it is "a rompler".

Monotremata wrote:Huh?? The JV1080 is the very definition of a rompler ... And yes, the Prophet 5, MiniMoog, DX-7, whatever are SYNTHESIZERS.

HouseWithoutMouse wrote:So anything goes as long as it can be put in the same category? Huh?? A synth is a synth? A rompler is a rompler? You want a DX7, it's just a synthesizer, here's a Minimoog it's the same thing? No.
