Yes, but the main issue is you can't export midi.

Well (pedantic with a tweed jacket and leather elbow patches mode on) technically you can export midi, you just need to do it as Midi over 5 din or Midi over USB. Now to wait for others to be even more pedantic than me, and list all the ways in software, wireless, bluetooth and whatever else I forgot

But yeah you're correct, we cannot export midi files... just the data :/

Yeah, you can save it as a project, open the project in the MPC software, then export as MIDI. What a strange thing to omit.

I think this is my problem with the split dev between stand alone and software... because they are running on a completely different platform the standalone and software versions will never have the exact same feature set.

I can almost imagine a future where they run the exact same software in standalone as they run on the PC... and then the hardware is just adding some dedicated controls through standard API functions. At least when I think about it that way it seems like a more straightforward way to develop so that the software and hardware/standalone units can have the same functionality and allow both to consistently import and export midi.

I'm probably dreaming though.

I don't think you are off at all. It can export audio files, so exporting midi data would be very easy. This is just one of things, where they need to revisit each section and improve it.

Hi, I'm a new user of MPC X and MPC in general.
Since I like the controller because of its CV/gates functionality that allows me to use some Eurorack modules; along with several MIDI-out synths, the initial idea of buying it was also using the sampler, which I read could be one of the best in-real-time within the market, something else I shall try.

After getting to know the CV/gate capability when writing notes straight to the touchable screen, I'm wondering How can I do to load .MIDI files into it ?

If somebody can guide me on the process or to post a link to, I do really appreciate.
