Hello there,
Recently I got a sustain pedal for my Midi Keyboard (M-Audio Axiom 25). I can program the pedal to send a Deferred Play command to my MPC Live. Which is handy when I want to record myself playing guitar because I can have both hands ready to play and then press start with my foot.
I would also like to be able to punch in and out of recording using the pedal, similar to pressing the Overdub button. This would be handy when using the pads to lay down drums incrementally on one track. When I send the MMC Record Strobe command the MPC goes in Rec-mode and notes are overwritten.
Is there a command I can use for overdubs? Or is there a setting I have overlooked? If so, I'll probably get a midi footswitch with multiple buttons. If not, I'll stick with what I have now.
As an aside, how does this work on the MPC X? Under "Preferences > Hardware" there are settings for Footswitch 1 & Footswitch 2. On page 81 the manual says "These determine how connected footswitches will work.". But doesn't state which options you can choose between. Can anyone with an X shed some light?
Thanks,
Conor
