Wing Chun was developed by a woman (If memory serves me right, I think her name was Wing Chun) so it suits string beans/short arses like you and I.

It would be impossible to ruin a thread like this with some of the 'advice' being offered! Not only that, but Kung Fu offers some really nice parallels to making music and the mind state of those that pursue it.
In general the '2 track crew' are happy to pull a few moves to get by in the street... If you've got a killer right hand why bother to develop the left? Give the average 2 track Hip Hopper a bag of vinyl and it's like arming an idiot with a stick. Take the stick away and you're just left with an idiot!
For those of us who are striving for a deeper understanding and more rounded fighting style, it becomes pretty obvious that there's a whole range of techniques to perfect before you can even consider yourself competent. This is assuming you want to dish out punishment on your own? The 2 track idiot with a stick may have a mastering engineer mate with an amazing round house kick, so there's no need for him to practice those moves. That's cool, but relying on some backup isn't the true essence of Martial Arts or making music.
The guy with a big right hand can't consider himself a fighter any more than a 2 track Hip Hopper thinks of himself as a beat maker/producer.
