Hi
Yeah it is a sweet thing I got one and I’m really chaved with it

1.
It works as a plug-in so you can apply any off them vintage EQ and Compressors when you've traced you signal to your Audio software lets say ProTools or Cubase or what ever you like to use...you get me?
The box it self it has DSP processor so your PC/Laptop/Mac it's burden free if you now what I mean??? (It’s not using your CPU)
It's also to control your effects, see all gain and compression levels on the display and to have sort of Hands-on felling...
It’s a very useful and easy to use tool...but you need FireWire connector in your computer.
2.
Yes you are right, the difference its in number effects/channels ratio
(however you can get expantion card for them two...) and as you can see 32 has LCD display...
Check this babe on Focusrite website and YouTube…it will help you make up your mind…
SoundOnSound review it’s quite good as well
