Get JJOS for your 2500.
I got 3.09, I think it's the free one?
I'll order a serial for the XL thing
do you live near zaandam?
these things weights a ton.....make sure you got transport.....
Is weights 18,2 KG, I'm like 8 KM away from Zaandam so NP.
Just my two cents, but slow motion bro. There's an inverse relationship between gearlust and productivity.
Yeah I'm suffering on the Gear Aquisition Syndrome.
I wasted my time on software since the sound that I'm trying to create is much easier with the hardware I'm collecting now.
So it's a very big step up for me.
The gritty cracking sound, the bass, the swing and "cheap" sounding effects in it, awesome.
I've bought external reverb to but I dont use it.
I like making music.
It's the only thing I care for, when my RME FireFace UC will drop by I'll let you hear my productivity.
Or check my software sampled beats (Fruity Loops + Reason 3/4/5 - Ableton/Logic when on my mac, which is for sale 300 eur.)
http://www.soundcloud.com/cases-1 - Begin 1st page, 5 pages total - 35 beats.
http://www.soundclick.com/cases - around 150 beats.
I have the diamond for myself don't like to put it online.
I'm slicing beats for like 7/8 years now and it's the only thing I like to do daily till late hours.
It's like a treatment, it's good for my mind.
The beats that come out are getting better and better.
And the hardware has convinced me of my skills and capabilities.
The MPC has changed alot, the sound is amazing and now I want every piece of affordable vintage sampling hardware, otherwise my money will get "up in smoke" since I live in Holland.
But I have to say I've learned a lot of the basics on the PC that made it a lot easier to understand everything. I even have benefits of my drum lessons 15 years ago lol.
Tonight I'll get the ASR-10 if it has the SCSI expansion.
The S3000i from scoobylol will be in here Saturday with a bit of luck, then I'm settled for about a month I guess haha, then I'll be collecting more and more hardware!
I don't need anything indeed, only sleep food and money, but...
It's fun right?
I just want all the flexibility available sample-wise and stuff like the ASR-10 is awesome and unique.
But you're right, I will have to study on it, but I'm fine with hardware.. I learn fast and i'm eager to learn.
But I never worked with the payed version of JJOS (as I think 3.09 is free, it was installed when I copped it) so I'll deffie try that out tonight.
It will be a big difference as I've read, but I wanted to play with it first.
Now I've learned about almost every option in the on it I'm ready for the next.
I think I'll get a week off, or 2, just to chop my 600 records!
Thnx for the links, the synthforum is full of nice hardware!
I'll try to discount the unit in Zaandam, since the salesman told me it has SCSI I want to have it, otherwist 360 is okay by me to!
On the synthforum there's a ASR-10 Rack (minor issues) for 200.
I'll try to ring that one to for 150, then I got to of em LOL.
Redundancy.
I'm in love man, I soon let you hear my 1st 100% MPC based beat.
I created it yesterday and again was the reason that I was late on work today. (2 hours of sleep cus of chopping till 4PM.
It's like 250BPM, but very slow (so very precise grit) with the bitcruncher on it (LOVE IT) and some filter envelopes, it's banging the sh1t outta my speakers!
Can't to get my hands on the akai S3000i.
Just curious how it will sound:)
I want the S950 to, since they say it has an nice 12-bit sound.
The vintage stuff is on the net for bargains man!
Get it before someone else does.
Just called the salesman, got it for 275 with SCSI:D:D:D:D:D (he told me there's an SCSI cable coming out of the unit:S I don't think this is regular is it??)
Anyway, I month warranty so I'm gonna get it anyway, it's a fvcking bargain man!
