Yeah I'm looking at his latest Urban Cookbook set. It's dope that he put same bass tones and one shots in there. Sets like that remind me of an old E-MU module with the variety of sounds.
It's not really the kind of wav libraries we're discussing here but the MOTU/UVI stuff is dope as hell. The BPM library is 24bit/96khz and sounds great. Sometimes I think it's only people with MPC 4000's that realize 24/96 doesn't necessarily mean ultra pristine. It's just more headroom to operate within. So you can have grit but with more clarity and definition. Similar to how you notice a huge difference in stereo separation and soundfield placement going from a $200 interface to a $1200 one.
The MOTU/UVI/USB stuff needs Mach 5 to fully edit and BPM to get the sounds on 16 pads. But there is the free UVI workstation VST/AU that will load all the libraries.
It's an undocumented thing but any single hits from these libraries as well as the WAV and REX loops can be dragged right to the desktop from the folder in the Mach 5/BPM/UVI Workstation browser. Of course it took me about 2 days.
Totally bizarre that I can do this on an encrypted library that requires one of 3 specific plugins to run.
