i stand when i'm scanning for samples, and def. when i'm doing my drums. I usually sit when editing waveform and creating melody. and, yes, like some of you i dance my azz off when i get that jont bumpin.

stryke i feel you man. I've tried and I cant get into standing. But I asked because I thought it was funny how my mans do. I go over his crib and he's standing. of course his mpc is up high to where he's comfortable, but he needs to be standing. and I told him i need to be sittin down and he bust out laughin at me lol. so I thought i'd ask yall.

and I see that some folks choose one over the other.

sometimes i find that i can hit the groove better if i am standing. But when i am tracking out or editing i sit. So i guess i do both.

I thought it was just me. :D :D

That's what I do too. When the Beat is kicking I must dance, never stand still.

Funny thing is, I tried sitting down. It was productive for like a week and then I had beat block. I have to do this standing up because I can't sit still, I throw the record on, see what moves me, chop some drums, etc. and then I get the basic arrangement going for the main sequence, leave, get a drink of water or a snack, come back, drink while I listen to the beat, go back and wash the dishes, come back, make an intro or chorus, or a break for it, go take a piss, come back and see if I still like it, save it, play it two times and then go to sleep. By the time I"m done with a beat all the running around got me tired and I go to sleep, but I CAN'T SIT STILL.

I prefer to levitate.

standing is number 1, sometimes my legs get tired though...

laying in bed is cool too. that's a good way to get really deep into melodies and chords.

actually, ok i got it now::

standing = drum/bass, the rhythm and groove
laying = gettin really tripped out
sitting = good for sound design, mixing, tracking out, analytical type sh**

standing is great for jamming with friends, you cant sit down for that...

I sit all the time except when doing drums. I seem to need to be standing to get the proper angle when drumming out a pattern.

Sit 90% of the time.
Sometimes I walk around, listen to the beat, work on it standing up for a while.
