ok, here's the thing. this was my original post that jacpot is referring to: the topic to that thread was
Question: Moving multiple track events to their own trac authored by bassics. his question was

and my response was

so jac came in here and asked his question. his question wasn't a how to but more so asking opinions from you all just to see what you think.
so my response to this whole thread would be, what everyone is saying holds merrit in their own way. it's all according to how you feel comfortable in working. but like i said, me personally, i do all of my drums on one
MPC track (kick, snare, hat) everything else would go on their own individual mpc track. as far as effects, with my drums, i wait until i track them into my DAW. i don't have to worry about track muting while tracking out because of the way i lay out my song on the mpc. i will have like 6 or 8 different seqs arranged in song mode. one of the seqs will have a snare muted for 1/2 bar or just the hats going or a seq with no drums just the sample playing. that way when i convert the song back to a seq everything is laid out the way i want it to be, i could also do further muting (record+erase) if i wanted. and as far as tracking (i have the 1k) i assign whatever pads i want to assignable outs 1,2,3,4 or main L/R and if i have more than 6 tracks, once i do a full record pass, then i come back and reassign the outs. it's nothing to do and it doesn't take that much time cause i'm used to it.
remember, there is no right/wrong way to do this. the way i stated, works for me. i just keep my drums on the same track cause i can lay them down faster and easier. remember, i also stated i used to do them on separate tracks so i know how it is.
