yeah, but from what i know, the phasing effect comes from how two hits are stacked together relative to their placements in time, not volume. like when you play double records on turntables perfectly synced, but when they slowly drift apart, you get that phasing sound. usually when i assign two or more sounds play simultaneously, i make one of the hits come a bit earlier or later by messing with the soft start... or you can just add em manually on step edit and have them trail by a tick or two... tuning up/down one of the sounds works for me too. i could be wrong and there could be other ways...
