are you trying to layer the same exact snare on top of each other?

not exactly sure what the phasing sound is. Are you losing low end.
if you are, just reverse the phase

spread them out by a few ticks? i havent figured out how to achieve that while having two kicks play simutaneously. perhaps try messing with the soft start

Dont have them play at the same velocity....Use the mixer to lower one or change the params of one (decay...tuning...etc)

assign both snares to a pad and set in the params of the pad to play the other pad simultaneously with the current pad.

layer snares with a high sounding kick and layer kicks with anything other than kicks

yeah, but from what i know, the phasing effect comes from how two hits are stacked together relative to their placements in time, not volume. like when you play double records on turntables perfectly synced, but when they slowly drift apart, you get that phasing sound. usually when i assign two or more sounds play simultaneously, i make one of the hits come a bit earlier or later by messing with the soft start... or you can just add em manually on step edit and have them trail by a tick or two... tuning up/down one of the sounds works for me too. i could be wrong and there could be other ways...

Load up a load of snares of all different kinds and mix and match. I have the mpc editor and since all my sounds are on my computer, ill find 32 to 64 of my best snares and claps and sticks and what not. From there i save that as program and load it up into my mpc. Ill just go to the part of the mpc where you can program and sound to trigger another and mix and match snares untill i find one that go together. I have come up with some good ones. I also had 3 different type of claps and match all three them up some way with each other and they all sound different. One thing i notice when doing it this way is sometimes the sound thats the main sound or the pad your pushing may not sound right with the sound your telling to trigger also but if you switch up the othere way it might work. I think this cause the main sound is kind of on top of the othere sound. Just tip. I do this with drums too.

i know exactly what your talking about,go into the mixer and turn the 2nd snare down a little bit. or mess with the param settings(filter, decay, attack)that always have worked for me
