can anyone share any good tips for dealing with the small silent gaps created by chopping loops into parts (but wanting to keep full length of chop for drum loop re-sequencing as opposed to drum 'hits' style), and re-sequencing at a different groove to the original

at the moment what im doing is using sound forge, with a batch script which is very efficient.

1 taking the chop sample and do a micro fade in and outs on each end to clean up clicks
2 duplicating sample and running a lond fade in on the copy so there is no attack and then run a gentle reverb on it so it extends just the tail portion
3 mix the 2 samples back together as MPC pad layers or simult pad, and mixing the reverb tail in with volume and ADSR

this works pretty well, but wondering how others do it..

specifically in this context im workin on pitched up 170 drums, basically jungle so im lookin to keep the drums rolling..

2 ways I deal with this. the first which is covered all of the forum is sample just air from the OP sample and lay it between let say the dead space between the kick, snare.

Another way is to layer another break, or chops from another break with it and it should help cover that "dead space"

Try to have your chops a bit longer than you should, like you leave a bit of the next sound. Add some decay, set your pads to mono and then use mute groups so each sound cuts the one before.
Not sure if it's clear and if it works well with drums, but i do this all the time with my chops and it works fine!
