Eyalc - Great track… but I am not getting as much electro funk out of the gate. I think it sounds super modern, and would be something that would sit great anywhere in the current decade, but it sounds like way too much is going. Digging the vox though, and the vocals… so damn smooth man! I can’t quite put my finger on it, but maybe it just sounds too clean for the challenge?
Danoc - I’m digging this, I mean man… you hit some ideas that are just dope, and this really sits into the electro funk space well. My biggest complaint is that it just feels too repetitive, but it feels like it has just about the right level of production and polish for the period. Sold me man!
Charles Randolph - I am digging this big time, I’m just not sold that it fits the time period. Seriously though, just some more mixing and I think you might be able to prove me wrong. It just feels like there’s one or two components too many going on. The scratching was a cool and fun element, but it goes on too long, and doesn’t get a chance to come to the front of the track. Actually that’s probably my biggest complaint with the track… too much feels “in the back” and not enough has a moment to shine. The drums are the biggest in your face component… and I was waiting for a drop, break, or anything to change it up to drive the rest of the song.
Cockdiesel - I wanted more out of your track. It feels like a really good start, and just needs some knocking bass that isn’t an 808… then you have the bass drops… I want more of that with some groove… especially when your track ends leaving me freaking hanging!
For me the call was between Bees80 and Danoc… I’m going for Bees80 just because I think the track fits the time period a tiny bit better… Danoc’s feels like something that much more modern. Seriously though, great job for both of you!

I need those fast style keys at those quick tempos.

Danoc wrote:You said l use one finget lol so l said you can check my vods and see l play keys! So l went in and showed my skills. I thought l would come a lil different bit had fun. I knew the instruments l hand to use cause lm a fan of Funk.
The blrssed part was getting those guitaes from Omnisphere once that happened l was a go. That was fun.

I need this level of playing, which is close to what you're doing on that track.
Danoc wrote:All you gotta do is practice, get your fingers right to be able to go from one key to the other and connect with your hearing. I started to pplay keys in 93 l had no choice and l love the piano. Plus l can touch type 55 wpm with 2 errors. It use to be 64 wpm. So that had something to do with it also. Now if l need something complex l play in chops
Im still learning. I have fallin deeply in love with chord progressions though, l can make tgem on the fly and l have never had beat block.

CharlesRandolph wrote:I can play arpeggios and hack stuff it together, but I prefer to have a pro keyboardist who can play it like you did, with feels and technical prowess. How come you didn't play like that on the Bob Marley interpolation?
