Haha, no that was like 4 years ago, it's been fixed (much appreciated though). Still very frustrating I was using an ASR-X pro till I could get a bit more money for the XL. An older dude that was showing me some shit on his XL was using the note variation slider to chop so that was like the first thing I noticed when I plugged it in.
I guess on the repair tip though, there's a shop in St Paul called The Good Guys (shameless plug) that can pretty much fix anything. If anyone has a serious repair I would look into that shop if your in the midwest. A friend sent me back to Minneapolis with his fried MPC 60, all the shops he knew couldn't figure out why it was dead. I took to EMI in Minneapolis cause it's cheaper but they couldn't figure it out either. Goody guys solved the problem, it just took a long time. It was cool because I go in there with the 60 and they're like ... "man I haven't seen the old one in a long time, we used to fix em when prince brought them in."
